The maps below are populated with icons representing the trend of the highest monthly temperature at each station. Significant trends are represented by upward and downward triangles. Stations are selected with the following criteria. Start with the search URL above:

Choose Daily Summaries, leave date range alone, search for States, select a state
Click on View Full Details
Scroll down and click on Station List
Click on the START column. That will present the oldest station first
Chose the stations with 98% or more coverage, and "END" column is recent
Click ADD for each of the stations. The more the better
Click on Cart. Select "Custom GHCN-Daily CSV"
For the Date Range, choose the earliest possible date on the left-hand calendar and click Apply
Click Continue. Select TMAX and other fields as desired, e.g. TMIN
Click Continue. Type email address twice and and click Submit Order
Two emails will arrive, one right away. The second will have a link to the data.
